A Summer Job Program Participant Receives the 2011 NFL Community Quarterback Award

This past summer, a young man named Angelo Johnson was one of the participants in the Art with a Heart Summer Job Program. Angelo was a stand-out from day one; his kind and considerate nature was immediately apparent. Upon the conclusion of the Program, Angelo was determined to stay connected to Art with a Heart. He routinely took a bus to get to the office to volunteer his time. Angelo has contributed his time to HeARTwares, the Baltimore Child Abuse Center mosaic, and helping in the office. Recently, Art with a Heart learned about the NFL Community Quarterback award, which salutes volunteers who exhibit leadership, dedication, and commitment to bettering their local communities. We unanimously thought of Angelo as a candidate for this award and nominated him. Last week, we learned that Angelo was selected for this award. Angelo was honored at the November 20th Ravens game. Congratulations to Angelo on this well-deserved honor!
